- Long tone exercises with optional ranges for Woodwinds if used with brass mouthpiece buzzing, or to tune different ranges.
- Lip slur exercises for brass include some with woodwind diatonic and chromatic scales.
- Mellophones are written a perfect fifth higher than low brass so they can also practice lip slurs without changing valve combinations.
- Concert keys exercises in C, F, Bb, Eb, Ab, and Db include major scale, tonic and dominant arpeggios, and eighth note technique studies that can utilize different articulation patterns.
